The initiative

Three pillars of a more equitable global education system.

— Aligned with UN SDG 4 across 42 countries

01

Equitable Access

Removing systemic barriers — cost, language, information asymmetry — that keep qualified applicants from the global classroom. Aligned with UN SDG 4: Quality Education.

02

Cross-Border Mobility Infrastructure

A unified layer for visa pathways, credential recognition, housing and banking — built with national agencies so mobility scales without friction.

03

Institutional Talent Pipelines

Verified, secure channels that connect universities, employers and ministries to authenticated international talent across 42 countries.

Why it matters

Infrastructure for global education — not just an app.

NEST-UNI translates user-level features into institutional-level outcomes: measurable access for applicants, verified pipelines for universities, and reliable data for policymakers.

For students

Equalizing opportunity across borders.

We remove the systemic barriers that keep qualified international applicants out of higher education — cost, language, opaque processes, and lack of trusted guidance.

  • Transparent admissions and credential pathways in 40+ languages.
  • Verified guidance on visas, housing, banking and academic recognition.
  • Grant-funded access for applicants from underrepresented regions.
For universities

Expanding global reach with verified pipelines.

We help institutions extend their international recruitment footprint while authenticating applicant credentials and intent at the source — securely, and at scale.

  • Verified international talent pipelines across 42 countries.
  • Standards-aligned data exchange (FERPA, GDPR, ISO 27001-aligned).
  • Mobility analytics for ministries, foundations and accreditation bodies.
Impact in members' own words

Real outcomes for international students.

NEST-UNI made my move from Belgrade to Paris feel like joining a community, not starting over. The visa checklist alone saved me weeks, and I met my closest friends through the welcome circles.

I landed in Berlin without speaking a word of German. NEST-UNI translated my syllabus overnight, matched me with a tutor in 24 hours and introduced me to a global network of people figuring it out together.

About the initiative

Built by Tiago Costa — an Edu-Tech founder turning a decade of work into public infrastructure.

Tiago is a seasoned Edu-Tech entrepreneur with a decade of experience building learning platforms used by students across Europe and Latin America. NEST-UNI is the institutional-grade evolution of that work — designed to be operated alongside universities, ministries and international development partners.

Today the team is around 15 people across Lisbon, Berlin, Seoul and beyond — engineers, designers, translators and program leads building scalable, secure, multilingual infrastructure to connect local universities to the global stage.

“Access to global education shouldn’t depend on where you were born. We’re building the infrastructure to make sure it doesn’t.”
