About the initiative

Building the infrastructure for global education.

NEST-UNI is an institutional-grade education-technology initiative bridging international talent with higher education. We leverage international development funding to build scalable, secure and multilingual infrastructure that connects local universities to the global stage.

Our mandate

NEST-UNI advances UN Sustainable Development Goal 4 — Quality Education — by removing the systemic barriers that keep qualified applicants out of higher education across borders. Our work spans equitable admissions access, verified credential pathways, mobility infrastructure (visas, housing, banking) and institutional analytics for ministries and accreditation bodies.

How we’re funded

NEST-UNI is supported by a combination of international development grants, institutional partnerships and mission-aligned private capital. Programs are designed in coordination with global education frameworks including UNESCO priorities, World Bank Education Global Practice, Erasmus+ and OECD Education, and operated to the data standards expected by those partners.

The team

We are around 15 people — engineers, designers, policy editors, translators and program leads — distributed across Lisbon, Berlin, Seoul and beyond. Most of the team has lived the international student or migrant experience first-hand, and brings that lived expertise to every part of the product.
